Volunteering, Health, and Environment: "The STM Honors Its Volunteers and Sponsors"

On Sunday, December 8, 2024, at 6:30 PM, the Science and Technology Museum of the University of Patras (STM) and the Friends of STM Association will host the event "Volunteering, Health, and Environment: The STM Honors Its Volunteers and Sponsors" at the museum premises.

A speech will be delivered by Ms. Niki Chaidopoulou, a philologist and Special Secretary of the Environmental and Health Association of the Chalandritsa Health Center area, of the honored organization, discusses “The ‘We’ in Protecting Health and the Environment.”

This will be followed by a presentation from the Director of the STM on innovative initiatives planned by the museum, for the implementation of which sponsors are being sought.

Next, honorary diplomas will be awarded to the museum’s volunteers, collaborators, and sponsors, as well as to schools that collaborated with the STM within the framework of networks and competitions during the 2023-2024 academic year.

The event will conclude on a festive note with a performance by the outstanding choir of the Experimental Primary School of the University of Patras, “The Experimental Troubadours.” The choir will deliver an engaging program, adding a celebratory touch to the event. The participation of the “Experimental Troubadours” was organized and prepared by the school educators: Marina Kyprianidou (Physical Education teacher), Antonia Griva (Arts teacher), and Gely Mitrogianni (Music teacher). The organizational effort was overseen by Anastasios Drogitis, Director of the Experimental Primary School, and Gerasimos Kalogeratos, Head of the Experimental Primary School.

Educators Andronikos Karaberes, Andreas Kikinas, Panagiotis Kidoniatis (guitars), Marianna Safarova (violin), and Katerina Skarpelou (darbuka) assisted in preparing the musical instruments. A small group from the Philharmonia Children's Choir will also participate.

After the event, attendees will have the opportunity to explore the STM’s permanent and temporary exhibitions. A small reception will follow.
