Thematic Health Education Network "Does the Internet unite us or divide us?"

The Science and Technology Museum of the University of Patras, the Department of Health Education of Primary Education of Achaia and Primary Schools of Achaia implement for the school and academic year 2018-2019, the thematic network "Does the Internet unite us or divide us?"

Aim of the network:

1. The investigation of the factors that lead to alienation due to the irrational use of the Internet.

2. The recognition of the positive elements of real life in relation to virtual reality.

3. The cultivation of critical thinking in the use of the positives of the internet and in the avoidance of its negatives.

4. The contribution to the prevention and treatment of alienation due to the Internet.

 Areas to be covered by the network:

Factors leading to alienation through the use of the Internet

• The stress of the inability to communicate
• How the Internet unites us
• How the Internet separates us
• The effects of alienation
• How we can deal with alienation
• Real life or virtual reality

Projects: Theatrical, fairy tale, at least 1 work of art, pantomime, video that deals with and renders one or more of the topics, as described above.

Activities that will include the network:

• Introductory experiential event for the alienation of the school groups that participate in the Network, at the STM.
• Possibility of participation of students-teachers in one of the Educational Programs for Internet safety at the STM.

• Final event for Museum Day. In the final event, the teams will exhibit and present their projects in an open event that will take place at the Science and Technology Museum.
