Purpose of the Student Volunteer Group of the Science & Technology Museum, Φ-STM
The purpose of the student volunteer group of the Science and Technology Museum is to enable students from the University of Patras or other universities to offer volunteer work at the STM within the framework of the Museum's Volunteer Programs and Pedagogical Competency Program. The volunteer work includes various aspects of the Museum’s operations, such as the collection and documentation of the museum's collections, the design, organization, and implementation of events and activities for the wider educational community and the general public, the implementation of educational activities as facilitators, and the design and production of new educational activities, etc.
Objectives of the Student Volunteer Group of the STM
The objectives of the student volunteer group of the Science and Technology Museum are for students to:
- Be inspired by exhibitions, educational activities, and other initiatives of the STM
- Experiment and try out new ideas in collaboration with staff and other students
- Interact with staff, other students, pupils, and the public
- Deepen their understanding of science and technology
- Practice popularizing science and technology through creativity
- Design an educational activity/experiment/game
- Discover skills and gain experience by offering their services at MET
