The award ceremony of the Head of the Science and Technology Museum of the University of Patras

It was with great emotion and impeccable organization that the Decoration Ceremony of Mrs. Peny Theologi-Gouti, head of the Science and Technology Museum of the University of Patras, took place, on the evening of Friday, November 18, 2022, at the French Institute of Greece in Patras. The awarding of the medal on behalf of the French state to Mrs. Peny Theologi-Gouti was made by the Counselor Advisor for Cooperation and Educational Activities of the French Embassy in Greece and the Director of the French Institute of Greece.

Mrs. Theologi-Gouti has been knighted a “Knight of the Order of the Academic Palms” (Chevalier dans l' ordre des Palmes académiques), the highest distinction of the French Republic, with the Decree of the Prime Minister of France as of July 12, 2022, for her contribution to the dissemination of French Culture and Science through the actions of the Science and Technology Museum, as well as for the excellence of her collaboration with the French Institute of Greece in Athens and Patras.

At the decoration ceremony, greetings were made by the Rector of the University of Patras, Professor Christos Bouras, the Dean of the School of Natural Sciences of the University of Patras, Professor George Papatheodorou, the Director of the Science and Technology Museum, Professor Ioannis Iliopoulos, the Deputy Regional Governor of Economic Policy & Fiscal Audit of Western Greece, Andreas Filias, and the President of the Hellenic Department of the International Council of Museums, Mrs. Teti Hadjinicolaou. The event was coordinated by the Director of the French Institute of Greece in Patras, Ms. Georgia Petropoulou-Conan, who was also responsible for organizing the ceremony. In addition, present at the event were the Vice Rector of Finance, Design, Construction and Information Technologies Associate Professor Vassilios Vassiliadis, the former Rector of the University of Patras, Professor Emeritus Alexis Lykourgiotis, as well as many distinguished guests.

After the official ceremony, a reception followed by live French music by the Ionian Orchestra of Christos Panagiotopoulos.
