Cultural Network “Art and Technology”

The Thematic Cultural Network “Art and Technology” is organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs for Secondary Education of Achaia and the Science and Technology Museum.

Objectives of the network:

• Familiarization of students with new forms of art using new technologies.
• Understanding the unbreakable relationship between technology and art.
• Education of students in new forms of art through technology, through experiential activities.

Operation of the network

In the context of the Network joint actions are foreseen, as well as actions that are individual for each group. Teachers can choose to work with their students on one of the suggested topics, choosing the methodology and how their team operates.

Suggested themes:

Videoart, sculpture with old objects, digital photography with the theme of technology, and industrial design.

Proposed joint actions within the network:

• A tour of the "Technology and Art" exhibition, which will be implemented at the Science and Technology Museum in collaboration with the Association of Visual Artists of Patras and the Department of Architecture.
• Common STM Objects through Art.
• Participation in the "Technology and Art" seminar, where students will present their work on the network and listen to speeches on the subject.
• Participation in the event for the celebration of the European Museum Night where all the actions that have taken place in 2012-2013 will be presented in the context of the networks.
