The lalitsa is a sound object, a small aerophone musical instrument, used for the sound it makes in Greek traditional music. It is also used as a means of communication. It is a special kind of whistle.
It is made of clay and shaped like a bird. It is filled with a little water, and when blown into, it produces sounds that resemble birdsong.
